Alex Buck was a
two-time Junior Ambassador - to Fukui, Japan, in 2000; and to
Morelia, Mexico, in 2002 - who passed away December 25th,
2006, just prior to his twentieth birthday. He was a
graduate of Troy High School and attended Pomona College.
While at Troy, he was a member of the band and the Science
Olympiad Team. His interests were many and he was
particularly fond of travel and photography. His "Fullerton
Observed" photo series was featured in the Observer newspaper
for several years.
Alex fought
cancer for two and a half years, refusing to let it deter
him from leading a normal life. He began college while
undergoing extensive medical treatment, and became a research assistant
at the hospital during the summer. |
