Morelia, Michoacán,
México
|
|
|
Morelia,
the capital of the state of Michoacán (seen in gold in the
picture), lies far to the south
of Fullerton, several hours west of Mexico City. It is
one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico, and also one of
the most historic. Morelia became Fullerton's first
Sister City in 1965, and since that time, hundreds of Sister
City Ambassadors have returned to tell us of its hospitality
and authentic Mexican culture. |
| Visitors
to Morelia have their pick of activities. The city is a
blend of both modern amenities and ancient treasures, including
the famous Catedral de Morelia, where a breathtaking lighting
ceremony takes place every Saturday night. Nearby towns
boast artisans in a wide array of crafts: copper, pottery,
guitars and even specialty Christmas ornaments. |
| Since the
first Sister City visit over forty years ago, Fullerton and
Morelia residents have journeyed back and forth on a regular
basis, and the tradition of friendship is flourishing like the
magnolia tree beside Fullerton City Hall. Read the
Wikipedia entry on Morelia --

Fullerton's original Sister City. |

A
beautiful walk in a park is one way to describe the fantastic
array of artesian fountains at a famous national park near
Morelia -- Uruapan. |
